***Who is He????

“I can’t lose. Y’all better place the bet on me. I’ve been a g since 1983. that was my birth year, November 14th, a Scorpio then I was placed on this Earth here. I won’t bullshit around like some do. I was born to shine like the sun do. Born to grind, born to hustle, endured the struggle now I see the light through the tunnel.”

Oh I forgot this was a bio, my fault. They call me Spits, Spits Nelson, Joshua, or J-Nel, and yes I do it for the people. The beats are my psychologists and the rap is my therapy.

North Jersey (Newark) grew me, South Jersey (Willingboro) raised me, came up to Boston (Fisher College), then the flow got crazy! I’m just like y'all, I enjoy basketball games, X-Box 360, push start vehicles, the WWF, rainy days, and Haagen Dazs Vanilla Ice Cream.

I’ve been doing hip-hop music for the last six years. My work includes songs produced by Korona, a young, talented producer who blossomed at producing hip hop music of all types. In other words, he was a beast! He taught me to appreciate music and try different things when writing. I owe a lot of my success to having met him in 2004.

Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of working with some dope artists such as Iron Mic, Haas, V.S., Mastermyndz, Siiyara Nelson, Jimmy Wyldtree, and 2nd Avenue. I’m currently working with a new upstart record company called B.L.A.K. (Born Leaders Appointed Kings) Label Music.

Featured Artist of the Week 4.18.2010 Presents: Milli Mars

Ladies & Gentleman, its Sunday and that means its time for our Featured Artist of the Week. With that being said, I proudly present MILLI MARS as this week's feature. Milli Mars is a Texas native with a non-typical Texas sound. ***Who is He?

Born from his father, “hip hop”, and his mother, “the streets”, walks a man built with the commanding presence of a legend, the swagger of a GQ model, and eyes that burn with the passion for the rap game.  With his explosive persona, it would not be wise to stand in his way unless you would like to be nothing more than a lost memory.  Hip hop industry beware, Milli Mars has entered the game and is about to go off like an atomic bomb, leaving only ashes and no memories of hip hop’s former self but creating only enough room for a new beginning.

Featured Artist of the Week 4/4/2010 Presents: Lyriqs Da Lyriciss


Ladies and gentleman, I present to you this week's featured artist of the week, Alfred "Lyriqs Da Lyriciss" Banks! Lyriqs is a New Orleans' native who is full of energy, hunger & passion. Below you will find out more about who he is, his music and a glimpse into his performances. 


***Who is He???


Alfred “Lyriqs Da Lyriciss” Banks was born July 17, 1991 in New Orleans, Louisiana. At the tender age of 6, he began rapping, however, once he heard LupeFiasco`s Food and Liquor at the age of 14, he realized his career would be in music. While attending Helen Cox High School, he met a teacher by the name of Baakir. Baakir saw something special in Lyriqs and told his friend, Truth Universal, Grassroots Host & Coordinator, all about him. Upon meeting Truth Universal, he was given the opportunity to perform at Grassroots, an underground Hip Hop show. Lyriqs’ energetic performance was a hit with his fellow emcees. Since then, Lyriqs has used every chance he has to perfect his craft. With the instruments he’s been given, Lyriqs strives to create some of the best music the industry has ever heard. Now at the age of 18, he continues working hard towards his goal of one day being a household name. He released the mixtape "Bluology" in September 2009 to good reviews depite the recording taking place in his closet. Through every experience and door opening, Lyriqs is determined to be heard by the world.
