Featured Artist of the Week 5.23.2010 Presents: A. LEVY

Ladies & Gentleman, we are back with another HOTT artist for Featured Artist of the Week. This week's artist is a New Orleans native, like myself, and has been killing the local scene lyrically & through production. I present to you A. LEVY! A. Levy has a unique sound that is distinguishable amongst millions. Here you will find out more about A. Levy the artist/producer, listen to his music and find out how you can reach him to book him/hear MORE music or find out how you can collaborate on a project. So, sit back & enjoy A. LEVY, this week's featured artist...

***Who is He???

Born and raised in New Orleans Austin Levy, who has been recording and performing under the moniker A. Levy since 1999, has shared the same stages as Mickey Factz, Curren$y, Mannie Fresh, N.E.R.D. and many more.

With a classic New Orleans Hip Hop sound that will make your head bob and meaningful messages to match the flavor of the instrumentals that accompany his rhymes, A. Levy is well on his way to making a name for himself in the underground Hip Hop scene.

A. Levy has released two mixtapes, “You Welcome” and “Crashed Harddrive” which together have allowed him to accumulate fans across the nation from Los Angeles to New York and even Seattle. His first project saw desirable results but it was his second, and most recent, that solidified his spot in the New Orleans music scene and garnered him respect amongst his peers.

Music from his latest project, a 21-track tape, saw features from some of New Orleans’ finest emcees and production by some of the city’s best. The first single, N.O.L.A. is currently in rotation on New Orleans’ radio station, Q93. Tune in to Q93 radio personality, Wild Wayne’s weekly talk show “Real Talk” on Saturday mornings at 8 and you can hear more of his work via the show’s theme song.

An audio engineer and owner of The H.U.T. Studios, L.L.C. located in his hometown, A. Levy's musical influences, some of which can be heard in his own style, include Nas, Eminem, Jay-z, Mac, Lupe Fiasco, Fiend, Mystikal, Kanye West, Outkast and the entire Hip Hop culture worldwide

Featured Artist of the Week 5.16.2010: Spits Nelson

Ladies and gentleman, we are back with a brand new Featured Artist of the Week, SPITS NELSON. Spits is a Jersey native, and is on a journey to put the East Coast back in the forefront of the industry. Today you will find out more about the artist as an individual, hear his music & find out how you can reach him to get even more of him. So sit back & enjoy Spits Nelson, this week's Featured Artist...

***Who is He????

“I can’t lose. Y’all better place the bet on me. I’ve been a g since 1983. that was my birth year, November 14th, a Scorpio then I was placed on this Earth here. I won’t bullshit around like some do. I was born to shine like the sun do. Born to grind, born to hustle, endured the struggle now I see the light through the tunnel.”

Oh I forgot this was a bio, my fault. They call me Spits, Spits Nelson, Joshua, or J-Nel, and yes I do it for the people. The beats are my psychologists and the rap is my therapy.

North Jersey (Newark) grew me, South Jersey (Willingboro) raised me, came up to Boston (Fisher College), then the flow got crazy! I’m just like y'all, I enjoy basketball games, X-Box 360, push start vehicles, the WWF, rainy days, and Haagen Dazs Vanilla Ice Cream.

I’ve been doing hip-hop music for the last six years. My work includes songs produced by Korona, a young, talented producer who blossomed at producing hip hop music of all types. In other words, he was a beast! He taught me to appreciate music and try different things when writing. I owe a lot of my success to having met him in 2004.

Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of working with some dope artists such as Iron Mic, Haas, V.S., Mastermyndz, Siiyara Nelson, Jimmy Wyldtree, and 2nd Avenue. I’m currently working with a new upstart record company called B.L.A.K. (Born Leaders Appointed Kings) Label Music.

My goal is to touch every city at least once and make sure the lunch is served. If y’all want Spits Nelson in your city hit me up at spits@spitsnelson.com and I’ll be glad to come through and serve lunch! Peace, Love, and Good Music.

***His Music

"Driving"

"More Than Rap"

"You Know its Me"

***How Can I Get More of Him???

Congratulations Spits on being Featured Artist of the Week! Thank you for letting me share your talent with the world...I wish you all the luck on your future endeavors. I'll be watching & tracking your career from here on out. Ladies and gentleman, I hope you liked what you saw today. We'll be back next week with another hot artist...

Featured Artist of the Week 4.18.2010 Presents: Milli Mars

Ladies & Gentleman, its Sunday and that means its time for our Featured Artist of the Week. With that being said, I proudly present MILLI MARS as this week's feature. Milli Mars is a Texas native with a non-typical Texas sound. He had me as a fan after hearing "Ghetto"...below you will find out more about the artist, pictures, hear his music, and find out how you can reach him. Sit back and enjoy Milli Mars...and as always, feedback is GREATLY appreciated...enjoy...

***Who is He?

Born from his father, “hip hop”, and his mother, “the streets”, walks a man built with the commanding presence of a legend, the swagger of a GQ model, and eyes that burn with the passion for the rap game.  With his explosive persona, it would not be wise to stand in his way unless you would like to be nothing more than a lost memory.  Hip hop industry beware, Milli Mars has entered the game and is about to go off like an atomic bomb, leaving only ashes and no memories of hip hop’s former self but creating only enough room for a new beginning.
At age 13, mixed with the power of fire and ice, the soul of Milli Mars was born.  Under the deceiving appearance of his hood exterior lays an outgoing and intelligent man.  The born and raised Texas artist brings the world a style never before experienced.  Currently, the music industry is devouring the world with its pointless lyrics and monotonous sound, but Mill Mars is destined to create a new definition for “originality”.
Prepared for the emotional rollercoaster that the music industry provides, the phenomenal artist has the strength and ability to survive this grueling game especially with the support of family and friends.   Not even at his peak, Milli Mars has received the opportunity to grace the stage with southern rap sensations such as Lil Wayne, Lil Scrappy, and Rich Boy.  Inspired by the styles and originality of Jay-Z and Missy Elliot and the assistance of his manager CJ, there is no doubt that the independent artist will launch a battle of artists who will fight to stand beside him on the stage he claims as his own.
Milli Mars will burn a hole into memories with an acidic flow and remain on the mind like a burn from anti-freeze.  He is a fighting contender with no intentions of giving his spot up as the industry’s new hottest commodity.  Be prepared that if your style is like “mice pissing on cotton” you might want to check the warning label when going against Milli Mars.

Featured Artist of the Week 4/11/2010 Presents: N.E.P.H.E.W.

Ladies & Gentleman I proudly present to you this week's Featured Artist of the Week, N.E.P.H.E.W.! N.E.P.H.E.W. is a native of Chicago and has a unique style. When we think of Chicago, we think Kanye & Common, well N.E.P.H.E.W has made it a point to sound like N.E.P.H.E.W. So take a listen & see what he has to offer. Below you will find a bio, music links, video footage and contact information on how to book him. So, take a look at Featured Artist of the Week, N.E.P.H.E.W. and as always, feedback is always appreciated & welcome.

***Who is He???
N.E.P.H.E.W. Its not just a name, its a philosophy, an outlook, an approach, a way of life. The 24-year-old Chicago rapper describes his music as hip-hop slash world, but don't expect to hear any tribal chanting or Brazilian drum work from Nephew. Instead, prepare to take a journey into the mindstate of Chicago's best-kept secret.

Neph-ology is 13 tracks of lyrical firepower and rhymes as hard as Chicago steel. Combining head-knocking beats with words that poke, provoke, and evoke. Within months accolades (and orders) poured in from around the globe, and Nephew built a substantial online following in Canada, Korea, Germany, Poland, and the United States solidifying the beginning of N.E.P.H.E.W'S Musical Impact.
