Ladies and gentleman, I present to you this week's featured artist of the week, Alfred "Lyriqs Da Lyriciss" Banks! Lyriqs is a New Orleans' native who is full of energy, hunger & passion. Below you will find out more about who he is, his music and a glimpse into his performances. 

***Who is He???

Alfred “Lyriqs Da Lyriciss” Banks was born July 17, 1991 in New Orleans, Louisiana. At the tender age of 6, he began rapping, however, once he heard LupeFiasco`s Food and Liquor at the age of 14, he realized his career would be in music. While attending Helen Cox High School, he met a teacher by the name of Baakir. Baakir saw something special in Lyriqs and told his friend, Truth Universal, Grassroots Host & Coordinator, all about him. Upon meeting Truth Universal, he was given the opportunity to perform at Grassroots, an underground Hip Hop show. Lyriqs’ energetic performance was a hit with his fellow emcees. Since then, Lyriqs has used every chance he has to perfect his craft. With the instruments he’s been given, Lyriqs strives to create some of the best music the industry has ever heard. Now at the age of 18, he continues working hard towards his goal of one day being a household name. He released the mixtape "Bluology" in September 2009 to good reviews depite the recording taking place in his closet. Through every experience and door opening, Lyriqs is determined to be heard by the world.
